Understanding JAG Time Cards  (JTC)
JTC allows you to create and maintain a collection of weekly Time Cards. You can specify the Start and End date, Employee Number, Employee Name, and Manager Name for the each Time Card when you create it. For each Time Card you can create and maintain a collection of Tasks. You can define each Task using six fields which out-of-the-box are captioned Title, Project, Phase, Category, Group A and Group B. You can change these fields' Captions to align with your business needs. Throughout the week you can record time against each Task using a combination manually editing Time values or by starting and stopping a Timer. My personal preference is that I use the Timer feature and then make small tweaks to the Time values throughout the day as needed. At the end of the week you can adjust your actual time down or up to a mandatory value like 40 hours and/or round each value to a specified increment like to the nearest 1/4 or 1/2 hour. But JTC always preserves your actual recorded time as well as your adjustments. Finally you can choose to email your time card using the Export feature that allows you to export your Time Card to XML or HTML for sharing or submission.
Adding a new Time Card
You add a new Time Card in number of ways including:
1 From JTC's Start page tap the Add Time Card tile, or,
2 From JTC's Start page tap the My Time Cards tile and then from the My Time Cards page tap Add + in the Application Bar.
Copying a Time Card
You can copy an existing Time Card which is the most efficient way to create your next new weekly time card. When you copy a Time Card all of the Tasks are copied as well and all Task time values are set to zero. To copy a Time Card:
1 From JTC's Start page press and hold any Time Card Tile shown in the Recently Viewed list and tap Copy on the shortcut menu, or,
2 From JTC's Start page press and hold the Current Time Card tile shown in the Work With list and tap Copy on the shortcut menu, or
3 From the My Time Cards page press and hold on the Time Card that you want to copy and tap Copy on the shortcut menu.
Editing a Time Card
You can edit a Time Card's information any time by:
1 Navigate to the My Time Cards page.
2 Press and hold the Time Card that you want to edit.
3 Tap Edit from the shortcut menu.
4 Edit the time Card's information as you want.
5 Tap Ok in the Application Bar.
or,
1 Press and hold a Time Card tile in JTC's Recently Viewed list on JTC's Start page.
2 Tap Edit from the shortcut menu.
3 Edit the Time Card information as you want.
4 Tap Ok in the Application Bar.

You can delete a Time Card by:
1 Navigate to the My Time Cards page.
2 Press and hold on the Time Card that you want to delete.
3 Tap Delete on the shortcut menu.
4 Tap Ok on the Delete Confirmation dialog.
Understanding the Current Time Card feature
JTC remembers the last Time Card that you created and treats that Time Card as the Current Time Card. This is useful in several ways:
1 JTC's Start page Work With list has a Current Time Card tile in the upper left corner that when tapped always brings you to the current time card's Tasks page. This saves the steps of having to open it from the My Time Card page or even from the Recently Viewed list.
2 If you pin the Current Time Card tile to you Windows Phone Start page then that tile will always jump you directly to the Current Time Card's Task page even as you create new time cards. So there's really no need to pin each new week's time card to the Windows Phone Start screen.
3 Press and hold on the Current Time Card tile and then tap Pin To Start from the shortcut menu.
Understanding the Recently Viewed list
JTC remembers the last 6 Time Cards that you worked with and adds them to the Recently Viewed list on JTC's Start page. This is useful in several ways.
1 Tapping on Recently Viewed tile opens that Time Card's Task list.
2 Pressing and holding on a Recently Viewed tile presents a list of commonly used action that you can perform on that Time Card like Copy, Edit, Pin to Start and Export.
2 Tap Clear located to the right of the Recently Viewed caption to clear the list of recently viewed items.
Pinning a Time Card
You can pin a Time Card to the Windows Phone Start Screen in number of ways including:
1 From JTC's Start page press and hold any Time Card Tile shown in the Recently Viewed list and tap Pin to Start from the shortcut menu, or
2 From JTC's Start page press and hold the Current Time Card tile shown in the Work With list and tap Pin to Start from the shortcut menu. This is more effective method because as you add new time cards the Tile on the Windows Phone Start Screen always brings you to the last Time Card created. This way you don't have to Pin each week's new Time Card to the Windows Phone Start Screen, or,
3 From the My Time Cards page press and hold on the Time Card that you want to pin and tap Pin to Start on the shortcut menu, or
4 When working with a Time Card's Tasks page, tap Pin to Start from the Application Bar menu.
Working With the Tasks page
Your Time Card's Tasks are displayed in a grid with the Tasks displayed as rows and the week days as columns. Task totals are displayed at the left with the Task Title and Day totals are displayed in the column header area. The Task Title and Task Totals columns and the column headers are pinned so as you swipe in all directions in the main area of the grid to view your entire work week, the Task and Day information remain visible. Normal when you navigate to the Tasks page it scrolls to the current day and active Task. Double tapping a Task's Title navigates you to the Task Details page where you can work with all information related to that Task. Double-tapping on a Task's time value on a specific day navigates you to special value list where you can quickly increment, decrement or set that time value. Pressing and Holding on a Task Time Value display a dialog window where you can type in a new value for the time. Pressing and holding on the Task Title displays a shortcut menu with actions that you can perform on that Task. Be sure to check out the menu options available in the Application Bar area.
Understanding Actual and Adjusted Time
JTC maintains two time values for each Task. We refer to these as the Actual Recorded and Adjusted Times. The Actual Time value is the value you normal work with as you're recording time throughout the week. It's also the value that the Timer increments. At the end of the work week you'll likely want to adjust your actual recorded time down to 40 hours or round them to some standard increment of time like 1/4 or 1/2 hour increments. it's also this Adjusted Time that you'll likely want to Export to payroll. JTC maintains these two values so you can historically preserve the actual time you recorded throughout the week yet also provide payroll or your manager a time card adjusted as required by your company. You can view and edit the Actual and Adjusted Time values for a Task by editing the Task. You can also Adjust the Actual Time in mass using the:

Set Adjusted feature
1 From the Tasks page.

3 A confirmation dialog is displayed.

You can also change the Captions by tapping on the Caption when working in the Task Details page. That way you can define and use these fields as appropriate for your organization. But in the context of this help document we'll refer to them in their out-of-the-box Captions.
